Jewelry show

Well, last night went well. We didn't have very many people stop by, but the people that did come bought quite a bit. I made $233. I have to make a lot more to cover all the supplies a bought. But I feel it was a success. Plus, one woman wants to have a party at her house in 3 weeks. So, I am excited. It's nice to see people enjoy what I made.
Jason and Brayden are sick and feeling lousy. Brayden has been home for 4 days now and can't quite shake the cold. He did do a dumb thing...you know teenagers...(and some adults:) once he started to feel better yesterday he went out and played football with his brothers and is now worse than he was before. I'm guilty of the same thing. When I'm sick and feel a small amount of energy come back I do some chores and kick myself back to feeling lousy again. Lame I know. I also have joined a group of women who all have their own business. It's called the best mini mall. Everything from MaryKay to ties to purses to books to of course now...jewelry. We are having a boutique in SLC and Heber this November. I'm hoping that will do well too. They've been doing it for a few years now...so there must be something to it:)
Annie get Your Gun is going well and the directors are happy with my performances which is great for the self-esteem. I love having this outlet. You all know how much I love to sing and be the center of attention at times, so this is keeping me happy and mentally healthy. Something I always need. The best mini mall has a website. I'm not on it yet but will be soon...it's thebestminimall.com. So if you want to check it out feel free. Oh, great...I can hear Chad coughing the same way Brayden has been. Candee I know what you mean about the play. That's why I look forward to auditioning for and being in the community play every year. It really is a great outlet. I'm really enjoying making new friends at rehearsals too! :D I consider my TVT friends to be some of my closest friends! :)

Random Memories

I want to make a little section where I can add in random memories that come to me from time to time. Since I've just started and have a lot of catching up to do I felt this would be a way to do that.

My first random memory is one of my favorites that my cousins will appreciate. We used to make up crazy games that made no sense just to keep us busy and enjoying each other's company. We made up a game called "Wonder Woman get in bed" . Michelle, Heidi, Rob, Andrew, Katie, Liz and Cara will remember this the most. I would hide in the stairwell in our Grandparents house and the rest of my cousins would sneak up to where I was without me seeing (like red light green light) then I would bolt from behind the wall and scream "Wonder Woman get in bed" while I spun around in circles while chasing them and trying to tag them before they were "safe" on the couch pretending to be in bed asleep. We have more fun reminising about that silly game then anything else. I love my cousins and love that saying one silly phrase like "Wonder Woman Get in Bed" can bring fun smiles to our faces...like magic.

Random Memories

In February of 2007 our family went up to a little cabin to meet Jason's parents as a surprise for the kids. We were in this one room cabin talking and playing games. That particular weekend Chad was 8 months old and decided to stop nursing completely. So, I was in a corner expressing milk into a cup for Chad and Riker came in the corner where I was and was facing me. Being the weird mom I was an not appreciating the lack of privacy Riker was giving me, I squirted him in the face with a little milk and pretended it was an accident. He quickly jerked back from the shock of a wet face and exclaimed, "Mom, keep it in the cup!"
One day Riker came up to me and out of the blue said,"I don't like aliens." I asked him why and he said, "Because they bite."
A couple years ago we were watching a commercial where there were lions talking to each other and discussing how to say "carne" with the roll of the tongue. After it was finished C.J. raised his hand and announced sincerely "Okay...who didn't know that lions could talk?"
Brayden was about a year and a half old when Jason and I decided that we had better start having organized Family Home Evening. We brought out the FHE manual and found a lesson about the Savior. It had a small picture of the Savior at the well with Mary. Brayden immediately lit up and pointed to Christ's hand and said "owie" and then he pointed to his other hand which you couldn't really see and said "owie" again. Jason and I looked at each other and got tears in our eyes. The children really are close to the veil and come with a memory of the Savoir.
When I was around 5 or 6 we had a junk yard behind our back fence. My brothers went out to explore and I followed because I always wanted to play with them but older brothers seldom want a little sister hanging around. So, Brett and Brad started running away from me and I wasn't very light on my feet and I tripped and my wrist landed on a rusty nail. I ran home and mom put a kitchen towel over it and it got soaked with blood. So, now I have a scar on my right wrist from the stitches.
When I was 3 years old I was in our back yard in Chico and in the kiddie pool there was a bee that I thought was drowning. I proceeded to save it by lifting it out of the water. Consequencly the bee stung me. As I was crying my dad came out to help me and I told him I wasn't crying because he stung me, I was crying because he didn't like me even though I was trying to help it.
